Extended Family Vacation Photos in Lake Lure, North Carolina
I had the pleasure of photographing this beautiful extended family during their stay in Lake Lure, North Carolina. Visiting from eastern Tennessee, they had never been to the area before but were drawn in by the charm of a small mountain town, and were even more excited when they found out, after booking, that Dirty Dancing was filmed here. They chose to document their vacation with a session right at their Airbnb, a perfect location surrounded by trees that created the most gorgeous natural canopy of light.
During extended family sessions, I make sure to photograph many combinations, the entire group, grandparents with their grands, each individual family, siblings together, couples, and even solo shots of the kids. It’s relaxed and fun, and you’ll leave with a gallery full of meaningful images to look back on for years to come.
Even after Hurricane Helene, it’s been heartening to see the Lake Lure area bounce back. While not every corner is quite back to normal, many parts of Lake Lure are thriving again, restaurants are open, the views are still stunning, and the charm that draws people here is very much alive.
