I first met the Bond family back in 2017 for a maternity session in Salisbury, North Carolina. From newborn photos to fall minis (they even stuck with me through my move to Florida!), to their visit at my home after moving back to NC for wildflower garden photos last summer, it’s been such a joy watching their two girls grow up in front of my camera. After eight years, they feel less like clients and more like family – which makes every session with them so special.
For this recent summer session, we met at one of my favorite little hidden gems in Black Mountain. It’s just outside of Asheville and only about thirty minutes from Hendersonville and Lake Lure, which makes it an easy and beautiful spot for families vacationing in the mountains or locals looking for a quick getaway. This place truly has it all – mountain views, a peaceful lake, walking trails and greenery, and in the summer, the prettiest wildflowers. At sunset, the light turns golden and dreamy, but even more than that, it’s a perfect place for families to relax and just enjoy being together.
The Bonds were the sweetest as always, and we spent the evening laughing, being silly, exploring, and catching that last bit of golden glow by the water. Sessions like this remind me why I love what I do – combining a beautiful location with genuine connection and making it feel effortless.
